Transmission Vent Hose Clip Bracket Replacement (L84, L87, 4WD and F47)

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

2. Transfer Case Skid Shield Bolt (1) » Remove [3x]
3. Transfer Case Skid Shield (2) » Remove
4. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.

5. Remove the wiring harness (2) with automatic level control air supply line (3) from the retainers (1) and reposition as necessary.

6. Remove the chassis wire harness clip (1) from the automatic level control air supply reservoir.

7. Remove the 3 automatic level control air compressor bolts (1).
8. Reposition and support the automatic level control air supply reservoir (2) out of the way of the transmission support crossmember.

9. Transmission Mount Nut (1) » Remove [2x]
10. Transmission Support Crossmember Nut (2) » Remove [4x]
11. Transmission Support Crossmember Bolt (3) » Remove [4x]

12. Transmission Support Crossmember (1) » Remove
13. Lower the transmission enough to gain access to the transmission vent hose clip bracket.

14. Remove the engine wiring harness retainer (1) and reposition the engine wiring harness (2) as necessary.

15. Remove the transfer case vent hose retainer (1).
16. Transfer Case Vent Hose (2) » Remove

17. Remove the transmission vent hose retainer (1) then reposition the transmission vent hose (2) as necessary.

18. Remove the transmission vent hose clip bracket nut (1).

19. Remove the transmission vent hose clip bracket (2). Installation Procedure

20. Install the transmission vent hose clip bracket (2).

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution

2. Install and tighten the transmission vent hose clip bracket nut (1). Fastener Specifications

3. Reposition the transmission vent hose (2) then install the transmission vent hose retainer (1).

4. Position the transfer case vent hose (2) then install the transfer case vent hose retainer (1).

5. Reposition the engine wiring harness (2) then install the engine wiring harness retainer (1).

6. Raise the transmission into place.

7. Transmission Support Crossmember (1) » Install

8. Transmission Support Crossmember Bolt (3) » Install [4x]

9. Transmission Support Crossmember Nut (2) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

10. Transmission Mount Nut (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

11. Remove the transmission jack.

12. Automatic Level Control Air Supply Reservoir (2) » Install

13. Install the 3 automatic level control air compressor bolts (1) and tighten. Fastener Specifications

14. Install the chassis wire harness clip (1) to the automatic level control air supply reservoir.

15. Install the wiring harness (2) with automatic level control air supply line (3) into the retainers  (1).

16. Transfer Case Skid Shield (2) » Install

17. Transfer Case Skid Shield Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

18. Lower the vehicle.
