Leak at Front Slip Yoke

	DEFINITION: A few drops of lubricant that are leaking from the splined yoke are normal. This condition does not require attention.
	The slip yoke barrel is burred, nicked, corroded, or worn or the welch plug is leaking.	1. Inspect the propeller shaft front slip yoke for burrs. On all applications, if there is oil leak from the front propeller shaft slip yoke ground barrel to the transmission/ transfer case output shaft oil seal, inspect the propeller shaft front slip yoke for burrs. Careful use of crocus cloth or fine stone honing can remove minor burrs. 2. If the yoke is badly burred, corroded, or worn, replace the propeller shaft front slip yoke. Propeller Shaft Front Slip Yoke Replacement 3. On 4WD vehicles, the welch plug is not vented. If it has been determined that the welch plug is leaking, replace the propeller shaft front slip yoke. Propeller Shaft Front Slip Yoke Replacement 4. On a 2WD vehicle the welch plug is vented. If oil is leaking from the welch plug vent hole, replace the transmission O- Ring seal inside the transmission on the output shaft. 5. Replace the transmission/transfer case output shaft seal. Ensure that any conditions of the propeller shaft front slip yoke that contributed to seal failure have been corrected. For vehicles equipped with NP0 transfer case. 	There is a faulty oil seal in the transmission or in the transfer case output shaft.	Replace the transmission/transfer case seal as required. For vehicles equipped with NP0 transfer case.
