  1. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
  2. Verify DTC P0422, P244C, P24A0 is not set. ⇒ If any of the DTCs are set Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle ⇓ If none of the DTCs are set
  3. Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following component/system: B17 Barometric Pressure Sensor B34 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor B65 Intake Manifold Pressure and Air Temperature Sensor B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor B130 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor B131 Exhaust Temperature Sensor B154 Diesel Particulate Filter Exhaust Differential Pressure Sensor Q14 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Q17 Fuel Injector Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve ⇒ If a related DTC is set Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle ⇓ If a related DTC is not set
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC sets Refer to: Circuit/System Testing ⇓ If the DTC is not set
  5. All OK. Circuit/System Testing
  6. Verify a condition does not exist with the component: B154 Diesel Particulate Filter Exhaust Differential Pressure Sensor Modified . Visible Damage Loose / Incorrect installation Hoses / Lines — Incorrect routing / Kinked / Leaking / Restricted ⇒ If a condition exists Repair as necessary ⇓ If no condition exists
  1. Verify the following conditions do not exist: Charge Air Cooler / Induction System — Leaking » Refer to: Component/System Leak Test. Exhaust System — Leaking » Refer to: Exhaust Leakage. Fuel — Contaminated » Refer to: Contaminants-in-Fuel Diagnosis. B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor — Visible Damage B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor — Skewed / Slow Response / Stuck » Refer to: DTC P0101. B154 Diesel Particulate Filter Exhaust Differential Pressure Sensor — Skewed B131 Exhaust Temperature Sensor — Incorrect installation / Loose / Malfunction Failed, intermittent, improperly installed or loose B131 Exhaust Gas Temperature sensors will cause inaccuracies in the soot model and cause this DTC to set. Engine — Mechanical Condition » Refer to: Symptoms - Engine Mechanical. ⇒ If a condition exists Repair as necessary ⇓ If no condition exists
  2. Perform the scan tool function: Particulate Filter Service Regeneration. ⇒ If the DPF service regeneration fails with the message “Soot Accumulation Out of Range” Replace the exhaust particulate filter. ⇓ If the DPF service regeneration completes
  3. All OK. Repair Instructions Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the repair. Nitrogen Oxides Catalytic Converter with Filter Replacement Perform the scan tool DPF Reset after replacing the exhaust particulate filter.
