Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the trailer axle using the trailer manufacturer recommended lifting and jacking procedure.
2. Remove the trailer wheel and tire assembly using the trailer manufacturer recommended procedure.

Note

Before the tire is removed from the wheel note the following items: Place the cap and the valve on a dry clean surface after removal, the cap is aluminum and the valve is nickel plated to prevent corrosion and are not to be substituted with a cap or valve made of any other material. When using the tire machine to separate the tire bead from the wheel, position the bead breaking fixture 90 degrees from the valve stem. When removing the tire from the wheel, ensure a tolerance is maintained between the tire machine fixture, or irons, tire bead, and the sensor.

3. Dismount the tire from the wheel. Tire Dismounting and Mounting
4. If a tire sealant product was used/found within the tire/wheel, use a mild dish soap, clean water and shop cloths to remove the sealant residue from the tire and wheel surfaces.
5. If installing the trailer tire pressure indicator sensor for the first time, remove the existing valve stem using appropriate tools without marring the sealing surfaces, then proceed to the installation procedure.

6. Tire Pressure Indicator Sensor Nut (1) » Remove

7. Trailer Tire Pressure Indicator Sensor (1) » Remove Installation Procedure

8. Ensure that the sealing surfaces of the trailer tire pressure indicator sensor (1) and the wheel are clean of dirt and debris.

Note

The air passage of the trailer tire pressure indicator sensor (1) must face away from the wheel.

2. Trailer Tire Pressure Indicator Sensor (1) » Install

Note

Apply light pressure when installing the tire pressure indicator sensor nut (1) to ensure its positioned correctly.

Note

4. Ensure that the trailer tire pressure indicator sensor (1) is properly oriented and flush with the wheel surface.

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

5. Tire Pressure Indicator Sensor Nut (2) » Tighten — Fastener Specifications
6. Mount the tire to the wheel.  Tire Dismounting and Mounting
7. Install the trailer wheel and tire assembly using the trailer manufacturer recommended procedure and specifications.
8. Remove the support and lower the trailer axle.
