1. Interior Accent Lamp Malfunction

Circuit/System Description With the headlamp switch in the PARK or HEAD position, the park lamp switch signal circuit provides an input to the body control module (BCM). The BCM responds by applying voltage to the backlight dimming control circuits illuminating all components with interior backlighting. Conditions for Running the DTC Battery voltage must be between 9-16 V. Conditions for Setting the DTC The BCM detects a short to ground in the Interior Door Handle Accent Lighting Control circuit  7557. Actions Taken When the DTC Sets The BCM will disable the Interior Door Handle Accent Lighting Control circuit 7557. Conditions for Clearing the DTC The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists. A history DTC will clear once 40 consecutive malfunction–free ignition cycles have occurred.   1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X5 connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
  2. Connect a 3 A fused jumper wire between control circuit terminal 15 and B+.
  3. Verify the door accent/flood lamps turn ON and OFF when connecting and disconnecting the jumper wire: {Chevrolet/GMC} E63LR Rear Side Door Inside Handle Illumination Lamp - Left {Cadillac} E55LR Rear Side Door Pocket Illumination Lamp - Left {Chevrolet/GMC} E63RR Rear Side Door Inside Handle Illumination Lamp - Right {Cadillac} E55RR Rear Side Door Pocket Illumination Lamp - Right ⇒ If the door accent/flood lamps are always OFF and the 3 A fuse is OK 3.1. Test the appropriate ground circuit for an open/high resistance: {Chevrolet/GMC} E63LR Rear Side Door Inside Handle Illumination Lamp - Left = Circuit 1150 {Cadillac} E55LR Rear Side Door Pocket Illumination Lamp - Left = Circuit 1150 {Chevrolet/GMC} E63RR Rear Side Door Inside Handle Illumination Lamp - Right = Circuit 1250 {Cadillac} E55RR Rear Side Door Pocket Illumination Lamp - Right = Circuit 1250 ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found 3.2. Test control circuit 7557 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found 3.3. Replace the door lamp. ⇒ If the door accent/flood lamps are always OFF and the 3 A fuse is OK 3.1. Test circuit 7557 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found 3.2. Replace the door lamp. ⇒ If the door accent/flood lamps are always ON 3.1. Test circuit 7557 for a short to voltage. ⇒ If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to voltage is not found 3.2. Replace the door lamp. ⇓ If the door accent/flood lamps turn ON and OFF
