Removal Procedure

  1. Drive the transfer case high/low shift fork pin (1) out using a drift punch and hammer.
  2. Remove the transfer case high/low shift fork (2). Inspect for wear or damage in the spring seat locations. The component must be replaced if damage is found.
  3. Remove the transfer case high/low shift fork spring assembly (3) from the transfer case high/low shift fork (2). Inspect for a broken spring. Replace the component if this conditions exist. Installation Procedure
  4. Install the transfer case high/low shift fork spring assembly (3). 1.1. Assemble with the cut corners of the spring assembly facing the shift fork. 1.2. Rotate the spring in the bracket to obtain a clear view through the bracket and cam hole to help with installation of the transfer case high/low shift fork pin (1).
  5. Install the transfer case high/low shift fork (2).
  6. Install the transfer case high/low shift fork pin (1)
