Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Liftgate Weatherstrip (1) » Reposition

3. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
4. Pull the body side rear window garnish molding (1) outwards enough to access the tether fastener.

5. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Remove
6. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Remove

8. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

10. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
11. Pull the body side rear window garnish molding (1) outwards enough to access the tether fastener.

15. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

Lower to gain access to rear window washer nozzle hose extension

17. Lower the headlining trim panel (1).
18. Disengage the retaining clips (2) at the rear of the headliner trim panel.
19. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
20. Rear Window Washer Nozzle Hose Extension » Disconnect
21. Disconnect the upper panel grommet from the body of the vehicle.

22. Close the liftgate.
23. Raise the rear compartment lift window.
24. Rear End Spoiler Bolt (1) » Remove [4x]

27. Rear Window Defroster Electrical Connector Trim Cover (1) » Remove [2x]
28. Rear Window Defroster Electrical Connector (2) » Disconnect [2x]

29. Remove the rear compartment lift window strut (1) from the rear compartment lift window [2x].

30. Remove the liftgate hinge pin retainers (1).

31. With aid of assistance, lift and slid the rear compartment lift window (1) to the left side of the vehicle and remove from the hinge pins (2).

32. Rear Compartment Lift Window (1) » Remove Installation Procedure

33. Rear Compartment Lift Window (1) » Install

34. With aid of assistance, lift and slid the rear compartment lift window (1) to the right and onto the hinge pins (2).

35. Install the liftgate hinge pin retainers (1).

36. Install the rear compartment lift window strut (1) at window [2x].

37. Rear Window Defroster Electrical Connector (2) » Connect [2x]

38. Rear Window Defroster Electrical Connector Trim Cover (1) » Install [2x]

39. Rear End Spoiler (2) » Install

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

8. Rear End Spoiler Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [11x] — Fastener Specifications

9. Rear End Spoiler Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

10. Close the rear compartment lid.

11. Open the liftgate.

12. Connect all electrical connectors.

13. Rear Window Washer Nozzle Hose Extension » Connect

14. Connect the liftgate upper panel grommet.

15. Engage the retaining clips (2) at the rear underside of the headlining trim panel (1).

16. Headlining Trim Panel (1) » Install

17. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

18. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

19. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Install

20. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Note

Position the body side rear window garnish molding tether in the same position as before molding removal.

21. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding (1) » Install

22. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

23. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

24. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Install

25. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

26. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding (1) » Install

27. Liftgate Weatherstrip (1) » Reposition
