DTC U3000 (B233 Short Range Radar Sensor)

Conditions for Running the DTC Ignition ON System voltage is 9-16 V Failure Type Bytes 56, 76, and 97: vehicle must be driven. Ignition ON Conditions for Setting the DTC The B233LF  Short Range Radar Sensor - Left Front, B233RF Short Range Radar Sensor - Right Front, or B233R  Short Range Radar Sensor - Rear has determined an internal software or hardware fault exists. DTC 3000 00 The control module detects an internal supply voltage error. DTC 3000 41 The control module detects a memory checksum failure. DTC 3000 42 The control module detects a memory read/write failure. DTC 3000 49 The control module detects an internal hardware failure. DTC 3000 4B The control module detects an internal temperature above the calibrated threshold. DTC 3000 54 The control module has not been programmed with the correct calibration file. DTC 3000 55 The control module has failed to read the IO pins used to sense the ECU location in the vehicle. DTC 3000 56 The control module detects an alignment that is outside the calibrated range and cannot be compensated. DTC 3000 57 The control module detects an incompatibility between software/calibration and the hardware. DTC 3000 76 The control module has failed to complete the alignment procedure. DTC 3000 95 The control module detects a mismatch between stored and sensed position information. DTC 3000 97 The control module detects a blockage of the sensor. DTC 3000 9A The control module detects an internal temperature below a calibrated threshold (under temperature condition) Action Taken When the DTC Sets Any system that utilizes the B233LF  Short Range Radar Sensor - Left Front, B233RF Short Range Radar Sensor - Right Front, or B233R  Short Range Radar Sensor - Rear is disabled. “Service Drivers Assist” displayed. Conditions for Clearing the DTC The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.   1. Verify that the DTC is not set with FTB 00, 41, 42, or 49. ⇒ If the DTC is set Replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC is not set
  2. All OK. DTC U3000 4B
  3. Verify that the ambient temperature around the module is less than 85°C (185°F). ⇒ If the ambient temperature is above 85°C (185°F) 1.1. Allow the area around the control module to cool below 85°C (185°F). 1.2. Clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC. 1.3. Verify the DTC does not reset. ⇒ If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC does not reset All OK. ⇓ If the ambient temperature is below 85°C (185°F)
  4. Clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
  5. Verify the DTC does not reset. ⇒ If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC does not reset
  6. All OK. DTC U3000 54 or U3000 57
  7. Ignition ON.
  8. Verify DTC U3000 54 or U3000 57 is not set ⇒ If the DTC is set 2.1. Program the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. 2.2. Verify the DTC does not reset. ⇒ If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC does not reset 2.3. All OK. ⇓ If the DTC is not set
  9. All OK. DTC U3000 55
  10. Ignition ON.
  11. Verify DTC U3000 55 is not set. ⇒ If the DTC is set 2.1. Verify that the radar module is properly and securely mounted in position. 2.2. Inspect the module harness for signs of physical damage or corrosion. Repair or replace as necessary. 2.3. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC. 2.4. Verify the DTC does not reset. ⇒ If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC does not reset 2.5. All OK. ⇓ If the DTC is not set
  12. All OK. DTC U3000 97
  13. Ignition ON.
  14. Verify DTC U3000 97 is not set. ⇒ If the DTC is set 2.1. Verify that the radar module is properly and securely mounted in position. 2.2. Verify there is no object or debris blocking the radar sensor such as dirt, mud, snow, or salt. Clean as necessary 2.3. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC. 2.4. Verify the DTC does not reset. ⇒ If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC does not reset 2.5. All OK. ⇓ If the DTC is not set
  15. All OK. DTC U3000 56 or U3000 76
  16. Ignition ON.
  17. Verify DTC U3000 56 or U3000 76 is not set. ⇒ If the DTC is set 2.1. Verify that the radar module is properly and securely mounted in position. 2.2. Verify the DTC does not reset. ⇒ If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC does not reset 2.3. All OK. ⇓ If the DTC is not set
  18. All OK. DTC U3000 95
  19. Ignition ON.
  20. Verify DTC U3000 95 is not set. ⇒ If the DTC is set 2.1. Verify that the stored location ID and sensed ID are matching. 2.2. Verify there is no object or debris blocking the radar sensor such as dirt, mud, snow, or salt. Clean as necessary 2.3. If the stored location ID and sensed ID are not matching, run Clear Short Range Radar Sensor Vehicle Position located in the scan tool under Configuration/Reset Functions in the B233 Short Range Radar Sensor. 2.4. Verify the DTC does not reset. ⇒ If the DTC resets, using the schematics, check the ground pins of the B233 Short Range Radar Sensor that is setting the DTC for signs of corrosion or an open circuit. Repair the circuit as necessary. If no corrosion or faults are found, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC does not reset 2.5. All OK. ⇓ If the DTC is not set

  22. Verify that the ambient temperature around the module is greater than -40°C (-40°F). ⇒ If the ambient temperature is below -40°C (-40°F) 1.1. Allow the area around the control module to warm above -40°C (-40°F). 1.2. Clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC. 1.3. Verify the DTC does not reset. ⇒ If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC does not reset All OK. ⇓ If the ambient temperature is above -40°C (-40°F)
  23. Clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
  24. Verify the DTC does not reset. ⇒ If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC. ⇓ If the DTC does not reset
