Warning

Warning

If broken glass falls into the defroster outlets, it can be blown into the passenger compartment and cause personal injury.

Warning

When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

2. Using the appropriate trim tool, remove the 2 windshield wiper arm finish caps (1) from both windshield wiper arms (3).
3. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) » Remove [2x]
4. Use the J–39822 Wiper Arm Puller to remove the wiper arms (3) from the wiper motor pivot shaft.

5. Apply two layers of masking tape around the top edge of the service part to prevent paint damage.
6. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully release the 3 air inlet grille panel extension clips.
7. Remove the air inlet grille panel extension (1)» Remove [2x]

8. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal Retainer (1) » Remove [2x]
9. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal (2) » Remove [2x]

10. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) » Remove [8x]
11. Disconnect the windshield washer nozzle hose from the windshield washer pump hose.
12. Lift the front edge of the air inlet grille panel (2) and slide the panel forward from both hood hinges to remove.

16. Inside Rearview Mirror Bolt (1) » Remove
17. Inside Rearview Mirror (2) » Remove
18. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

19. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Note

Observe the mounting and location of the front view camera to ensure proper reinstallation.

20. Release the retaining tabs and rotate the front view camera (1) downward and slide the front view camera rearward to release.

22. Windshield Outside Moisture/Ambient Light and Humidity Sensor (1) » Remove and DISCARD
23. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Note

Do NOT remove or service the sensor farm pins.

24. Release the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket (1) retaining tabs and slide the bracket upward to disengage the sensor farm pins.
25. Gently pull the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket (1) away from the windshield.
26. Cover to protect the following parts from broken glass: Upper Dash Pad The defroster outlets and A/C outlets The seats and carpeting
27. { If equipped } Remove the lower windshield supports from the cowl panel.

Note

Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.

28. { If equipped } Using the appropriate tool, carefully cut around the lace, start in the center working from side to side of the window to access the urethane adhesive bead.

Note

Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window.

29. Use BO-24402-A Glass Sealant Remover  (1) to remove the window. Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange. The only suitable lubrication is clear water.

30. With the aid of an assistant, remove the windshield (1) and locating pin (2) from the vehicle. Installation Procedure

31. Windshield (1) » Install — Adhesive Installation of Windshields

32. With the aid of an assistant, install the windshield (1) and locating pin (2) to the vehicle.

33. Clean the inside of the windshield before installing the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket (1).

35. Windshield Outside Moisture/Ambient Light and Humidity Sensor (1) » Install NEW

36. Connect the electrical connector.

37. Front View Camera (1) » Install

38. Slide the front view camera (1) forward to engage and rotate the front view camera upward and secure the retaining tabs.

39. Connect the electrical connector.

40. Inside Rearview Mirror (2) » Install

11. Inside Rearview Mirror Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

12. Connect the electrical connectors.

15. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling

17. Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) » Install

18. Connect the windshield washer nozzle hose to the windshield washer pump hose.

19. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) » Install [8x]

20. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal (2) » Install [2x]

21. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal Retainer (1) » Install [2x]

22. Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension (1) » Install [2x]

23. Remove the masking tape from the top edge of the service part.

24. Using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water with a clean towel, remove any left over adhesive residue from the masking tape.

25. Clean the left and right side windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arm (3).

29. If required, realign the windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1)  on the windshield.
30. Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
31. Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
32. Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.
