  1. Place the transmission in neutral service mode. Neutral Service Mode

  1. Mark the relationship between the propeller shaft and the differential drive pinion gear yoke using a suitable tool.
  2. Rear Propeller Shaft Bolt (1) » Remove [4x]

  1. Align the notch (1) on the top of the seal between the rear output bearing retaining ring access holes (2) to position the weep hole down.

  1. Using the DT-48210 Seal Installer (2) and theJ-8092 Driver Handle (3), install the NEW transfer case rear output shaft seal (1).

  2. Align the propeller shaft using the previously created marks.

  3. Propeller Shaft (1) » Install

  4. If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps: 5.1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth. 5.2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive. 5.3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 5.4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.

  5. Rear Propeller Shaft Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

  6. Partially lower the vehicle, open the door and place the vehicle in park.

  7. Lower the vehicle.
