Cellular, Entertainment, and Navigation | Description and Operation | Document ID: 5913692 Rear Seat Infotainment System Components The rear seat infotainment system includes: 2 seat headrest display screens Rear Consumer Port (RCP) Up to 4 bluetooth wireless headphones (2 per screen) System Operation Display 1 (passenger seat back) is a smart device and is connected to the radio via Ethernet. Display 1 is connected to Display 2 (driver seat back) and the Rear Consumer Port via a LVDS cable. The radio controls each display with a Remote Enable circuit. The RSI system is entirely controlled by touch screen inputs, no remote controls or external buttons are used. To turn on the RSI system touch anywhere on the desired display and the Home screen will be displayed. This screen is broken up into a bottom status bar and three control panels. The bottom status bar provides the Home button, current time, access to the RSI system settings, Bluetooth Headphones settings and a Power button which allows the user to turn OFF the associated screen. Bluetooth HDMI devices can be paired to the system and phones can be paired as just media devices. The RSI system does not support Navigation. Display screens Display 1 is located in the back of the right front (passenger) seat. Display 1 is a programmable display and is connected to the CSM via Ethernet. Display 2 is located in the back of the left front (drivers) seat. Display 2 is non programmable and is only function is to display the signal that is sent from Display 1. It is connected to Display 1 via a LVDS cable. The rear displays utilize a 12.6 inch fixed 16x9 aspect ratio, touch screen LCD with 1920x1080 pixel resolution. The factory default/power reset for both displays is OFF (including audio). Each rear display can select a video source independently or utilize the share screen option to have the same source displayed on both screens. Rear Consumer Port The Rear Consumer Port (RCP) is connected to Display 1 via a LVDS cable. The Rear Consumer Port has the following inputs available: HDMI 1 HDMI 2 USB Equipped with 2 rear USB-C charge only ports. HDMI The HDMI input allows an HDMI A/V cable to be connected from an auxiliary device such as a camcorder or video game system. For certain HDMI devices that support USB charging, the USB ports can be used as a power source. Wireless Headphones The RSI package includes two Bluetooth wireless headphones. When paired to the RSI screen the headphones are used for listening to audio from the RSI system. The headphones have a power button, channel select button, volume control button, and a USB C charge port. The headphones have a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery pack. To turn on the headphones press the power button for one second. To enter pairing, with the headphones OFF, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds. The headphone name will display as “GM RSI BT HP”. See “Pairing to RSI Screen” below for pairing instructions with RSI screen. To turn off the headphones press and hold the power button for 2 seconds while the headphones are on. Pairing to RSI Screen Only two headphones can be active per RSI screen. To pair a Bluetooth headphone to one of the rear screens:

  1. Touch the Headphone icon from the desired Rear Screen Home Page.
  2. Select Add New Headphones.
  3. Make sure the bluetooth headphone is in pairing mode. To enter pairing mode start with the headphone off, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds.
  4. Once recognized by the system, the headphone is displayed on the list of Available Headphones.
  5. Select the appropriate headphone from the list. Once connected, touch OK at the Pairing Successful pop-up.
  6. Touch OK.
