Rocker Panel Front Molding Replacement (B3L)

Removal Procedure

1. Extend the assist steps in the vehicle personal optimization chapter in the owners manual.

Note

Closing the doors will not re-tract the assist steps.

2. Scroll to Deploy Running Boards on the navigation screen.
3. Put the assist steps in the extended position.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
5. Open both front and rear side doors

6. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) » Remove [3x]

7. Rocker Panel Molding Bolt (1) » Remove
8. Front Wheelhouse Liner (2) » Reposition

9. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]

10. Using an appropriate trim tool, release the lower rocker panel molding retainers and pull the rocker panel molding (1) away from the body side outer panel.

12. Remove the front rocker panel (1)  from the rear rocker panel Installation Procedure

13. Install the front rocker panel (1)  to the rear rocker panel

14. Position the rocker panel molding (1) to the vehicle and seat the upper rocker panel molding retainers into the body side outer panel.

15. Seat the lower rocker panel molding retainers into the body side outer panel.

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

4. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

5. Position the front wheelhouse liner (2) to its original location.

6. Rocker Panel Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

7. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

8. Close both front and rear side doors.

9. Lower the vehicle.
