1. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Remove

2. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

4. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
5. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Remove

6. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
8. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Remove

9. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Remove
10. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
11. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Remove

12. Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle (1) » Release
13. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bolt (2) » Remove [2x]

Note

You may have to push down on the lower steering column closeout to clear the instrument panel cluster trim plate.

14. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster (1) » Remove
15. Extend the steering column to its furthest point to allow the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover to clear the instrument panel.

16. Using a small plastic trim tool, separate the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) from the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

17. Using a small plastic trim tool, separate the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) from the instrument panel steering column opening closeout (2).

18. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.

20. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.
21. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Remove
22. Turn the steering wheel to the centered position.

24. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

33. Steering Column Nut (1) » Remove [4x]
34. Disconnect the steering column electrical connectors as necessary.

2. Steering Column Control Module Bracket Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

3. Connect the electrical connectors. (1)

4. Steering Column (1) » Install

5. Connect the steering column electrical connectors.

6. Steering Column Nut (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

7. Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) » Install

8. Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Warning

Upon installing the floor duct to the side of the HVAC case, it is necessary to verify duct opening is completely installed, surrounding the HVAC case outlet port. Failure to do so could result in the duct falling downward, with the potential to interfere with driver’s legs and gas/brake pedal operation.

9. Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side (1) » Install

10. Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

11. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator (1) » Install

12. Instrument Panel Lower Insulator Retainer (1) » Install [2x]

13. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling

14. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (1) » Install

15. Connect the electrical connector.

16. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

17. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.

18. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

19. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.

20. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

21. Turn the steering wheel to the centered position.

22. Clip the instrument panel steering column opening closeout (2) to the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1).

23. Secure the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) to the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

24. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster (1) » Install

25. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

26. Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle (1) » Install

27. Connect the electrical connectors.

28. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Install

29. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

30. Connect the electrical connectors.
