Actions Taken When the DTC Sets Traction/Stability Control Indicator = ON Conditions for Clearing the DTC The conditions for setting the DTC no longer exist. A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycles. Diagnostic Aids This DTC does not indicate any system malfunction. DTC C0072 indicates there was excessive system activation in the following system(s) that caused the high temperature: – Antilock Braking System – Traction Control System – Vehicle Stability Control Reference Information Schematic Reference Antilock Brake System Schematics Connector End View Reference Master Electrical Component List Electrical Information Reference Circuit Testing Connector Repairs Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections Wiring Repairs Scan Tool Reference Control Module References Circuit/System Verification

  1. Discuss with the customer about the driving conditions when the concern occurred.
  2. Verify no other DTCs are set. ⇒ If any other DTCs are set Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle ⇓ If no other DTCs are set
  3. Under normal operating conditions: Verify DTC C0072 is not set. ⇒ If the DTC sets Replace the component: K160 Brake System Control Module ⇓ If the DTC is not set
