Sunroof Housing Bracket Replacement (Short Wheel Base) Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

2. Insert a suitable flat-bladed plastic trim tool between the rear seat position center reading and courtesy lamp (1) and headlining trim panel (2).
3. Separate the rear seat position center reading and courtesy lamp (1) from the headlining trim panel (2).

4. Pull downward to release the retaining tabs.
5. Rear Seat Position Center Reading and Courtesy Lamp - Rear (1) » Remove
6. Disconnect the electrical connector.

7. Insert a suitable flat-bladed plastic trim tool between the cargo center courtesy lamp (1) and headlining trim panel (2).
8. Separate the cargo center courtesy lamp (1) from the headlining trim panel (2).

9. Pull downward to release the retaining tabs.
10. Cargo Center Courtesy Lamp (1) » Remove
11. Disconnect the electrical connector.

12. Place the coat hook (2) in the open position.
13. Coat Hook Bolt (1) » Remove [4x]
14. Coat Hook (2) » Remove [4x]

15. Move both front seats fully forward.
16. Use a flat bladed plastic tool between the center pillar center trim panel (1) and the center pillar upper trim panel to disengage the upper retaining clips (2) on both sides of the vehicle.
17. Pull from both sides of the center pillar center trim panel (1) to release the middle and lower retaining clips (2) on both sides of the vehicle.

19. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Remove [2x]
20. Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (2)» Remove [2x]
21. Pull the center pillar upper trim panel (3) toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the retaining clips on both sides of the vehicle.

23. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Remove

25. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
26. Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) » Reposition

27. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
28. Pull the body side rear window garnish molding (1)  outwards enough to access the tether fastener.

32. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

36. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
37. Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) » Reposition

38. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
39. Pull the body side rear window garnish molding (1) outwards enough to access the tether fastener.

43. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

45. 3rd Row Seat Belt Guide Cover (1) » Open
46. Rear Seat Belt Guide Bolt (2) » Remove [2x]

48. Using a suitable trim tool, gently pry and pull downwards on the rear seat belt opening bezel  (2) to release the retaining clip on both sides of the vehicle.

50. Lower the headlining trim panel (1).

2. Sunshade Support Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

3. Headlining Trim Panel (1) » Install

4. Rear Seat Belt Opening Bezel (2) » Install [2x]

5. 3rd Row Seat Belt Guide (1) » Install [2x]

6. Rear Seat Belt Guide Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

7. 3rd Row Seat Belt Guide Cover (1) » Close

8. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

9. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

10. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Install

11. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Note

Position the body side rear window garnish molding tether in the same position as before the molding removal.

12. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding (1) » Install

13. Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) » Reposition

14. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

15. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Install

16. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

17. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

18. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Install

19. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Note

Position the body side rear window garnish molding tether in the same position as before the molding removal.

20. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding (1) » Install

21. Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) » Reposition

22. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

23. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Install

24. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (3) » Install [2x]

25. Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (2)» Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

26. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Install [2x]

27. Align the retaining clips (2) with the upper and lower trim panels on both sides of the vehicle.

28. Center Pillar Center Trim Panel (1) » Install [2x]

29. Coat Hook (2) » Install [4x]

30. Coat Hook Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

31. Connect the electrical connector.

32. Cargo Center Courtesy Lamp (1) » Install

33. Apply pressure upward on the cargo center courtesy lamp (1) to engage the retaining tabs.

34. Connect the electrical connector.

35. Rear Seat Position Center Reading and Courtesy Lamp - Rear (1) » Install

36. Apply pressure upward on the rear seat position center reading and courtesy lamp (1) to engage the retaining tabs.

37. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
