Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

2. Insert a suitable flat-bladed plastic trim tool between the cargo center courtesy lamp (1) and headlining trim panel (2).
3. Separate the cargo center courtesy lamp (1) from the headlining trim panel (2).

4. Place the rear 2 coat hook (2) in the open position.
5. Coat Hook Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
6. Coat Hook (2) » Remove [2x]

7. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
8. Pull the body side rear window garnish molding (1)  outwards enough to access the tether fastener.

11. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Remove

12. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

The body rear corner upper garnish molding does not need to be fully removed from the vehicle.

13. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

14. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
15. Pull the body side rear window garnish molding (1) outwards enough to access the tether fastener.

18. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Remove

19. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

The body rear corner upper garnish molding does not need to be fully removed from the vehicle.

20. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

21. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
22. Rear Seat Center Belt Opening Bezel - 3rd Row Seat (1) » Remove
23. Feed the 3rd row seat center belt through the rear seat center belt opening bezel (1).
24. Feed the back half of the seat belt opening bezel through the headlining opening.

25. 3rd Row Seat Belt Guide Cover (1) » Open
26. Rear Seat Belt Guide Bolt (2) » Remove [2x]

27. 3rd Row Seat Belt Guide (1) » Reposition
28. Using a suitable trim tool, gently pry and pull downwards on the rear seat belt opening bezel  (2) to release the retaining clip on both sides of the vehicle.

30. Lower the rear of the headlining trim panel (1).
31. Disengage the retaining clips (2) at the rear of the headliner trim panel.

32. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

33. Radio Antenna Module Bolt (1) » Remove

34. Use trim tool to release retainer on the front of radio antenna amplifier (2).

35. Radio Antenna Amplifier (2) » Remove Installation Procedure

36. Radio Antenna Amplifier (2) » Install

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

2. Radio Antenna Module Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

3. Connect the electrical connectors.

4. Engage the retaining clips (2) at the rear underside of the headlining trim panel (1).

5. Headlining Trim Panel (1) » Install

6. Rear Seat Belt Opening Bezel (2) » Install [2x]

7. 3rd Row Seat Belt Guide (1) » Install [2x]

8. Rear Seat Belt Guide Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

9. 3rd Row Seat Belt Guide Cover (1) » Close

10. Feed the back half of the seat belt opening bezel through the headlining opening.

11. Feed the 3rd row seat center belt through the rear seat center belt opening bezel (1).

12. Rear Seat Center Belt Opening Bezel - 3rd Row Seat (1) » Install

13. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

14. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

15. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Install

16. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Note

Position the body side rear window garnish molding tether in the same position as before the molding removal.

17. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding (1) » Install

18. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Reposition

19. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

20. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Install

21. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Note

Position the body side rear window garnish molding tether in the same position as before the molding removal.

22. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding (1) » Install

23. Coat Hook (2) » Install [2x]

24. Coat Hook Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

25. Connect the electrical connector.
26. Cargo Center Courtesy Lamp (1) » Install
27. Apply pressure upward on the cargo center courtesy lamp (1) to engage the retaining tabs.
28. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
