Instrument Panel and Console Trim | Diagnostic Information and Procedures | Document ID: 5471606 Diagnostic Instructions Perform the Diagnostic System Check prior to using this diagnostic procedure: Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle Review the description of Strategy Based Diagnosis: Strategy Based Diagnosis An overview of each diagnostic category can be found here: Diagnostic Procedure Instructions DTC Descriptor DTC B1B1E Front Floor Console Motor Symptom Byte Information: Symptom Byte List Circuit/System Description When the appropriate switch is used on the A103 Roof Console it will a serial data message to the K9 Body Control Module requesting movement of the front floor sliding center console, the K9  Body Control Module will then send a serial data message to the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module which will then perform the forward or rearward function as requested. Diagnostic Aids The motor for the sliding center console is part of the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module and cannot be serviced separately. The K230 Front Floor Console Control Module is part of the console base assembly, the console base must be removed to gain access to the module for diagnosis/replacement. Before fully disassembling the center console check for power and ground at the appropriate terminals at the X300 connector under the drivers seat. If there is not power and ground at the connector repair the fault on the appropriate circuit. Conditions for Running the DTC Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode Conditions for Setting the DTC B1B1E 92 When the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module encounters an obstruction while performing the forward or backward movement.   1. Ignition On/Vehicle in Service Mode.
  2. Operate the component: A103 Roof Console » Pressed & Pulled Verify the component works as specified: K230 Front Floor Console Control Module = Forward travel K230 Front Floor Console Control Module = Backward travel ⇒ If the component does not work as specified Refer to Circuit/System Testing ⇓ If the component works as specified
  3. A fault is not currently present and may be an intermittent condition Circuit/System Testing

  2. Command the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module by pressing the pulling the appropriate switch on the A103 Roof Console. ⇒ If the power sliding front floor center console travel is limited or inoperative 2.1. Inspect the area around the power sliding front floor center console for any exterior obstructions that would prevent normal forward and backward travel. ⇒ Remove the exterior obstructions ⇓ If there are not any visible exterior obstructions 2.2. Disassemble the front floor center console and inspect for internal obstructions that would prevent normal forward and backward travel. ⇓ If there are not any internal obstructions
