Circuit/System Description The accessory DC/AC power inverter module receives fuse protected battery voltage and is connected to the 12 V electrical system ground. The accessory power receptacle – 220V AC has an internal switch, that detects when an AC powered device is plugged into the outlet. When the ignition is ON, and an AC powered device is plugged into the accessory power receptacle – 220V AC, the normally open switch in the accessory power receptacle – 220V AC, closes. When the accessory DC/AC power inverter module detects the voltage from the accessory power receptacle – 220V AC switch, the inverter module begins to supply 220–230 V AC to the accessory power receptacle – 220V AC after a 1.5 second delay. The accessory AC power system is protected against circuit overload and circuit shorts to ground. - Ignition OFF disconnect the X1 connector at the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module.
- Test for less than 10 Ω between ground circuit terminal 2 and ground. ⇒ If 10 Ω or greater Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1150 or ground connection. ⇓ If less than 10 Ω
- Ignition ON. Activate the AC Power Outlet Switch.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is OK 4.1. Test circuit 4629 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is not found, verify there is voltage at the fuse. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open 4.1. Test circuit 4629 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 4.2. Replace the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module. ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
- Connect the X1 connector at the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module, and disconnect the X2 connector at the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module.
- Ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between signal circuit terminal 5 and ground. ⇒ If greater than 1 V Repair the short to voltage on circuit 6807. ⇓ If less than 1 V
- Test for infinite resistance between signal circuit terminal 5 and ground. ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the short to ground on circuit 6807. ⇓ If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 1 V between the following terminals and ground: AC Circuit Terminal 1 AC Circuit Terminal 8 ⇒ If greater than 1 V Repair the short to voltage on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 1 V
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals and ground: AC Circuit Terminal 1 AC Circuit Terminal 8 ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the short to ground on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If infinite resistance
- Disconnect the connector at the X81B Accessory Power Receptacle - 220V AC.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between the following test points: X81B Accessory Power Receptacle — 220V AC Circuit Terminal 1 & T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module Terminal 1 X81B Accessory Power Receptacle — 220V AC Circuit Terminal 5 & T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module Terminal 8 ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω Repair the open/high resistance in the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
- Ignition ON. Activate the AC Power Outlet Switch.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between control circuit terminal 3 and ground. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate 15.1. Test circuit 4049 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 15.2. Test circuit 4049 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Replace the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module. ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
- Ignition OFF, connect the connector at the X81B Accessory Power Receptacle — 220V AC. Connect a 220V extension cord without a connected device to the X81B Accessory Power Receptacle — 220V AC.
- Ignition ON.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module control circuit terminal 2 and signal circuit terminal 5. ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω 19.1. Test the following circuits for an open/high resistance: Circuit 4049 Circuit 6807 ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 19.2. Replace the X81B Accessory Power Receptacle — 220V AC. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
- Replace the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module. Cargo Bed Outlet Malfunction
- Ignition OFF disconnect the X1 connector at the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module.
- Test for less than 10 Ω between ground circuit terminal 2 and ground. ⇒ If 10 Ω or greater Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1150 or ground connection. ⇓ If less than 10 Ω
- Ignition ON. Activate the AC Power Outlet Switch.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is OK 4.1. Test circuit 4629 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is not found, verify there is voltage at the fuse. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open 4.1. Test circuit 4629 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 4.2. Replace the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module. ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
- Connect the X1 connector at the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module, and disconnect the X2 connector at the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module.
- Ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between signal circuit terminal 12 and ground. ⇒ If greater than 1 V Repair the short to voltage on circuit 2266. ⇓ If less than 1 V
- Test for infinite resistance between signal circuit terminal 12 and ground. ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the short to ground on circuit 2266. ⇓ If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 1 V between the following terminals and ground: AC Circuit Terminal 7 AC Circuit Terminal 14 ⇒ If greater than 1 V Repair the short to voltage on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 1 V
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals and ground: AC Circuit Terminal 7 AC Circuit Terminal 14 ⇒ If less than infinite resistance Repair the short to ground on the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If infinite resistance
- Disconnect the connector at the Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 220V AC.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between the following test points: Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 2210V AC Circuit Terminal 1 & T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module Terminal 7 Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 220V AC Circuit Terminal 5 & T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module Terminal 14 ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω Repair the open/high resistance in the appropriate circuit. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
- Ignition ON. Activate the AC Power Outlet Switch.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between control circuit terminal 3 and ground. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate 15.1. Test circuit 4049 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 15.2. Test circuit 4049 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Replace the T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module. ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
- Ignition OFF, connect the connector at the Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 220V AC. Connect a 220V extension cord without a connected device to the Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 220V AC.
- Ignition ON.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between T1 Accessory DC/AC Power Inverter Module control circuit terminal 2 and signal circuit terminal 12. ⇒ If greater than 2 Ω 19.1. Test the following circuits for an open/high resistance: Circuit 4049 Circuit 2266 ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found. 19.2. Replace the Accessory Power Receptacle — Rear Compartment 220V AC. ⇓ If less than 2 Ω
