Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

2. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Remove

3. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
4. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Remove

5. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
6. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Remove

7. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
8. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Remove
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

10. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Remove
11. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Remove
12. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

13. Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
14. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.

17. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

20. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Remove
21. Disconnect the electrical connector.

22. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
23. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Remove
24. Disconnect the electrical connector.

26. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Remove
27. Disconnect the electrical connector.

28. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
29. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Remove

35. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

Use care not to bend or deform the thin area of the instrument panel trim pad.

37. Disconnect the electrical connector.

45. Disconnect the electrical connector.

50. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

51. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Loosen [4x]
52. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

54. Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) » Remove [3x]
55. Disconnect the electrical connector.

57. With the aid of an assistant remove the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) from the vehicle.

61. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
62. Remove the wiring harness retainers form the right instrument panel outer air outlet duct.

64. Release the retaining tabs.
65. Disconnect the electrical connector.
66. Auxiliary Wireless Communication Interface Antenna (1) » Remove

67. Pull the windshield defroster outlet duct (1) towards the rear of the car while moving up and to the right to disconnect the left side window defogger outlet duct, to remove the duct. Installation Procedure

68. Install the windshield defroster outlet duct (1) while connecting the left side window defogger outlet duct.

69. Connect the electrical connector.

70. Auxiliary Wireless Communication Interface Antenna (1) » Install

71. Secure the retaining tabs.

72. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct - Right Side (1) » Install

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

6. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

7. Install the wiring harness retainers onto the right instrument panel outer air outlet duct.

8. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Right Side (1) » Install

9. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

10. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Retainer (1) » Install

11. With the aid of an assistant install the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) into the vehicle.

12. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel (1) » Install

13. Connect the electrical connector.

14. Connect the electrical connector.

15. Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

16. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate (2) » Install

17. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

18. Connect the electrical connectors.

19. Instrument Panel Transmission Shift Opening Cover (2) » Install

20. Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

21. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [15x] — Fastener Specifications

22. Connect the electrical connector.

23. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

24. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

25. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

26. Windshield Garnish Molding (3) » Install

27. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

28. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) » Install [2x]

29. Connect the electrical connector.

30. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

31. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

32. Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

33. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

34. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

35. Connect the electrical connector.

36. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Install

37. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

38. Connect the electrical connector.

39. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Install

40. Connect the electrical connector.

41. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

42. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

43. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

44. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

45. Align the retaining clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding  (1) into place.

46. Windshield Garnish Molding (1) » Install

47. Connect the electrical connectors.

48. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Install

49. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

50. Connect the electrical connectors.

51. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

52. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

53. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

54. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

55. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Install

56. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
