Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose Replacement - Left Side

Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

2. Unclip the sunshade and rotate the sunshade to the side.
3. Open the sunshade support bolt access cover with an appropriate tool.
4. Sunshade Support Bolt (1) » Remove

5. Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.
6. Pull the windshield garnish molding (1)  rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
7. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.

10. Fold the assist handle downward and hold. (2)
11. Use a small flat-bladed tool to open the assist handle covers to access the bolts.
12. Roof Rail Assist Handle Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
13. Roof Rail Assist Handle (2) » Remove

14. Sunshade Retainer Bolt Cover (1) » Remove
15. Sunshade Bolt (2) » Remove [3x]
16. Squeeze the tabs at the base of the sunshade (3) to detach it from the roof panel and allow the headliner with the sunshade attached to be lowered.

17. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
18. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Remove

19. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
20. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Remove
21. Disconnect the electrical connector.

22. Move the front seat fully forward.
23. Use a flat bladed plastic tool between the center pillar center trim panel (1) and the center pillar upper trim panel to disengage the upper retaining clips (2).
24. Pull from both sides of the center pillar center trim panel (1) to release the middle and lower retaining clips (2).

26. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Remove
27. Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Remove
28. Pull the trim panel (3) toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the retaining clips.
29. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (3) » Reposition

30. Lower the left front section of the headlining trim panel (1).

31. Remove the 2 wiring harness retainers (1).
32. Reposition the wiring harness.

33. Release the sunroof housing front drain hose clip (1).
34. Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose (2) @ Sunroof Housing Drain Gutter » Disconnect
35. Reposition the insulator as needed.
36. Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose (2) @ Plenum Lower Panel » Disconnect

Note

Observe the routing and location of the sunroof housing front drain hose to ensure proper reinstallation.

37. Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose (2) » Remove Installation Procedure

38. Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose (2) » Install

39. Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose (2) @ Plenum Lower Panel » Connect

40. Reposition the insulator as needed.

41. Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose (2) @ Sunroof Housing Drain Gutter » Connect

42. Secure the sunroof housing front drain hose clip (1).

43. Install the wiring harness.

44. Install the 2 wiring harness retainers (1).

45. Headlining Trim Panel (1) » Install

46. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (3) » Install

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

10. Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

11. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap (1) » Install

12. Align 6 retaining clips (2) with the upper and lower trim panels.

13. Center Pillar Center Trim Panel (1) » Install

14. Connect the electrical connector.

15. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

16. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

17. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

18. Sunshade Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

19. Sunshade Retainer Bolt Cover (1) » Install

20. Roof Rail Assist Handle (2) » Install

21. Roof Rail Assist Handle Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

22. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

23. Align the retainer clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding  (1) into place.

24. Windshield Garnish Molding - Left Side (1) » Install

25. Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.

26. Sunshade Support Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

27. Close the sunshade support bolt access cover.

28. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling

29. Water test and inspect sunroof for proper operation.
