Rear Output Shaft Cleaning and Inspection

- Inspect all components or sub-components and perform any repair procedure necessary to fix the damage. If the damage cannot be repaired, replace the component or sub-component as indicated.
- Clean all components in cleaning solvent and air dry.
- Inspect the transfer case rear output shaft splines (1).
- Inspect the transfer case oil pump and rear output shaft speed reluctor wheel engagement splines (2).
- Inspect the transfer case front output shaft drive sprocket bearing surface (3) for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear.
- Inspect transfer case two/four wheel drive clutch hub engagement splines (4).
- Inspect the transfer case control actuator lever bearing surface (5) for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear.
- Inspect the transfer case control actuator lever thrust bearing surface (6) for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear.
- Inspect the transfer case engagement splines (7).
- Inspect the transfer case input shaft pilot bearing surface (8) for scoring, brinelling, pitting, or excessive wear. 11 Inspect oil galleries (9)
