Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side (without UV6) Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

2. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Remove

3. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
4. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Remove

5. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
6. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Remove

7. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
8. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Remove
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

10. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Remove
11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

13. Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
14. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.

17. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

20. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Remove
21. Disconnect the electrical connector.

22. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
23. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Remove

25. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
26. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Remove
27. Disconnect the electrical connector.

28. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

35. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

Use care not to bend or deform the thin area of the instrument panel trim pad.

37. Disconnect the electrical connector.

52. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

55. Disconnect the electrical connector.

57. With the aid of an assistant remove the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) from the vehicle.

67. Pull the windshield defroster outlet duct (1) towards the rear of the car while moving up and to the right to disconnect the left side window defogger outlet duct, to remove the duct.

3. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Retainer (2) » Install

4. Install the windshield defroster outlet (1) duct while connecting the left side window defogger outlet duct.

5. Connect the electrical connector.

6. Auxiliary Wireless Communication Interface Antenna (1) » Install

7. Secure the retaining tabs.

8. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct - Right Side (1) » Install

9. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

10. Install the wiring harness retainers onto the right instrument panel outer air outlet duct.

11. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Right Side (1) » Install

12. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

13. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Retainer (1) » Install

14. With the aid of an assistant install the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) into the vehicle.

15. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel (1) » Install

16. Connect the electrical connector.

17. Connect the electrical connector.

18. Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

19. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate (2) » Install

20. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

21. Connect the electrical connectors.

22. Instrument Panel Transmission Shift Opening Cover (2) » Install

23. Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

24. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [15x] — Fastener Specifications

25. Connect the electrical connector.

26. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

27. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

28. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

29. Windshield Garnish Molding (3) » Install

30. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

31. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) » Install [2x]

32. Connect the electrical connector.

33. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

34. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

35. Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

36. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

37. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

38. Connect the electrical connector.

39. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Install

40. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

41. Connect the electrical connector.

42. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Install

43. Connect the electrical connector.

44. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

45. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

46. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

47. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

48. Align the retaining clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding  (1) into place.

50. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Install

51. Connect the electrical connectors.

52. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

53. Connect the electrical connectors.

54. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

55. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

56. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install
