DTC Descriptor DTC B15BD Instrument Panel Cluster Low Voltage Differential Signaling LVDS Signal (+) DTC B1A5E Instrument Panel Cluster Low Voltage Differential Signaling LVDS Signal (-) For symptom byte information, refer to Symptom Byte List. Circuit/System Description The Head-Up Display system uses the P16 Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module to formulate images and vehicle information. The P16 Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module interfaces with the P29 Head-Up Display via a LVDS Signal over a USB cable. The P16 Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module monitors the circuits of the USB cable for faults. Conditions for Running the DTC Ignition Switch in RUN position. System voltage is greater than 9 V and less than 16 V. Conditions for Setting the DTC The P16 Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module detects an invalid signal from the P29 Head-Up Display Action Taken When the DTC Sets The Head-Up Display system may be inoperative while the DTC is current. Conditions for Clearing the DTC The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists. A history DTC will clear once 100 consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycles have occurred. - Verify the USB cable is properly connected and there is no damage to the cable or connections. ⇒ If connection problems or cable damage is noted. Perform the appropriate repair or replacement to correct any issues. ⇓ If no connection problems or cable damage is noted.
- Disconnect the P16 Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module X2 harness connector and the P29 Head-Up Display X2 harness connector.
- Connect the EL-50334-50 to the P16 Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module and the P29 Head-Up Display X2.
- Ignition ON, Head-Up system ON.
- Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC sets 5.1. Replace the P29 Head-Up Display. 5.2. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC sets Replace the P16 Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module. ⇓ If the DTC does not set All OK ⇓ If the DTC does not set
