Diagnostic Instructions Perform the Diagnostic System Check prior to using this diagnostic procedure: Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle Review the description of Strategy Based Diagnosis: Strategy Based Diagnosis An overview of each diagnostic category can be found here: Diagnostic Procedure Instructions DTC Descriptor DTC C2A3B Hydraulic Shutdown Test Not Run Symptom Byte Information: Symptom Byte List Circuit/System Description For an overview of the component/system, refer to: ABS Description and Operation Conditions for Running the DTC K160 Brake System Control Module = Initialization complete Conditions for Setting the DTC K160 Brake System Control Module = Shutdown Not Performed — 20 Drive Cycles Actions Taken When the DTC Sets A message and/or warning indicator may be displayed to the driver. Conditions for Clearing the DTC Shutdown Mode = Performed Successfully A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycles.   1. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
  2. Verify there are no other DTCs set, except for DTC C2A3B. ⇒ If the DTC is not set All OK. ⇓ If the DTC is set
  3. Test drive the vehicle. = Greater than 20 km/h (13 MPH) — For 1 km (.7 mi)
  4. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems » Off = Greater than 2 min
  5. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
  6. Clear DTCs
  7. Verify DTC C2A3B is not set. ⇒ If the DTC is set 7.1. Test or inspect for the following: Brake Pedal = Binding or Sticking Refer to: Brake System Slow Release 7.2. Perform the scan tool control function: Brake Hydraulics Test 7.3. Test drive the vehicle. = Greater than 20 km/h (13 MPH) — For 1 km (.7 mi) 7.4. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems » Off = Greater than 2 min 7.5. Clear DTCs 7.6. Verify DTC C2A3B is not set. ⇒ If the DTC is set Test or replace the component: A104 Brake Master Cylinder ⇓ If the DTC is not set All OK ⇓ If the DTC is not set
  8. All OK. Repair Instructions Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the repair: Diagnostic Repair Verification Brake Master Cylinder Replacement - With Power Brake Booster and Electronic Brake Control Module For control module replacement, programming, and setup refer to: Control Module References
