  1. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
  2. Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following component/system: B9 Ambient Air Temperature Sensor B17 Barometric Pressure Sensor B26 Crankshaft Position Sensor B34 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor B65 Intake Manifold Pressure and Air Temperature Sensor B75C Multifunction Intake Air Sensor B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor B130 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor B131 Exhaust Temperature Sensor Q14 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Q97 Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve ⇒ If a related DTC is set Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle ⇓ If a related DTC is not set
  3. Verify the condition does not exist: Cooling System — Leaking / Restricted EGR Cooler — Restricted / Visible Damage ⇒ If a condition exists Repair or replace as necessary ⇓ If no condition exists
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
  5. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC sets Replace the component: EGR Cooler ⇓ If the DTC is not set
  6. All OK. Repair Instructions Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the repair: Diagnostic Repair Verification Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Replacement For control module replacement, programming, and setup refer to: Control Module References
