Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

2. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Remove

3. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

5. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

7. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
8. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Remove
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

10. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Remove
11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

13. Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
14. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.

17. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

20. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Remove
21. Disconnect the electrical connector.

22. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

26. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Remove
27. Disconnect the electrical connector.

28. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

35. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

Use care not to bend or deform the thin area of the instrument panel trim pad.

55. Disconnect the electrical connector.

57. With the aid of an assistant remove the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) from the vehicle.

2. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

3. Install the wiring harness retainers onto the right instrument panel outer air outlet duct.

4. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Right Side (1) » Install

5. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

6. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Retainer (1) » Install

7. With the aid of an assistant install the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) into the vehicle.

8. Connect the electrical connector.

9. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel (1) » Install

10. Connect the electrical connector.

11. Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

12. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate (2) » Install

13. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

14. Connect the electrical connectors.

15. Instrument Panel Transmission Shift Opening Cover (2) » Install

16. Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

17. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [15x] — Fastener Specifications

18. Connect the electrical connector.

19. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

20. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

21. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

22. Windshield Garnish Molding (3) » Install

23. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

24. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) » Install [2x]

25. Connect the electrical connector.

26. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

27. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

28. Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

29. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

30. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

31. Connect the electrical connector.

32. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Install

33. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

34. Connect the electrical connector.

35. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Install

36. Connect the electrical connector.

38. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

39. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

40. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

41. Align the retaining clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding  (1) into place.

42. Windshield Garnish Molding (1) » Install

43. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Install

44. Connect the electrical connectors.

45. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

46. Connect the electrical connectors.

47. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

48. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

49. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

50. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

51. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Install

52. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
