Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Warning

When installing the water deflector, ensure that the water deflector is securely fastened to the door inner before installing the door trim. An improper seal of the water deflector against the door inner may affect the ability of the front door pressure sensor to detect a side collision. This may result in improper airbag deployment and could cause bodily injury.

1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

3. Front Side Door Armrest Bracket Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
4. Front Side Door Pull Handle Bracket (2) » Remove

5. Route front side door inside handle cable through hole in deflector (1).
6. Front Side Door Water Deflector (1) » Remove

7. Use flat-bladed plastic tool to release metal retaining clip from front corner of the front side door window garnish molding  (1).
8. Pull outward starting at the front and moving slowly rearward to remove the window garnish molding (1).

10. Radio Front Side Door Speaker Bolt (1) » Remove
11. Radio Front Side Door Speaker (2) » Remove
12. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Typical wiring harness shown, individual harness may be different due to option content.

13. Front Side Door Wiring Harness (1) » Remove Installation Procedure

14. Front Side Door Wiring Harness (1) » Install

15. Connect the electrical connector.

16. Radio Front Side Door Speaker (2) » Install

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

4. Radio Front Side Door Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Note

Ensure that the door weatherstrip is not trapped below the window garnish molding (1) once completely installed. Reposition the weatherstrip as necessary.

5. Front Side Door Window Garnish Molding (1) » Install

Note

When reinstalling water deflector ensure integral locators are installed properly and that water deflector is secured and leakproof.

6. Route front side door inside handle cable through hole in deflector (1).

7. Front Side Door Water Deflector (1) » Install

8. Front Side Door Pull Handle Bracket (2) » Install

9. Front Side Door Armrest Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

10. Front Side Door Trim » Install — Front Side Door Trim Removal and Installation

11. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
