Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side Removal Procedure

Warning

Refer to SIR Warning.

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

2. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Remove

3. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

5. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

7. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
8. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Remove
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

10. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Remove
11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

13. Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.
14. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.

17. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

21. Disconnect the electrical connector.

22. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
23. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Remove

26. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Remove
27. Disconnect the electrical connector.

28. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

35. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

Use care not to bend or deform the thin area of the instrument panel trim pad.

52. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

55. Disconnect the electrical connector.

57. With the aid of an assistant remove the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) from the vehicle.

2. Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

3. With the aid of an assistant install the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) into the vehicle.

4. Connect the electrical connector.

5. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel (1) » Install

6. Connect the electrical connector.

7. Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

8. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate (2) » Install

9. Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

10. Connect the electrical connectors.

11. Instrument Panel Transmission Shift Opening Cover (2) » Install

12. Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

13. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [15x] — Fastener Specifications

14. Connect the electrical connector.

15. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

16. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

17. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

18. Windshield Garnish Molding (3) » Install

19. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

20. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Cover (1) » Install [2x]

21. Connect the electrical connector.

22. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

23. Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [6x] — Fastener Specifications

24. Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

25. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

26. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

27. Connect the electrical connector.

28. Radio Front Center Speaker (2) » Install

29. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

30. Connect the electrical connector.

31. Instrument Panel Extension (1) » Install

32. Connect the electrical connector.

33. Radio Front Speaker (2) » Install

34. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

35. Radio Front Speaker Grille (1) » Install

36. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

37. Align the retaining clips with the slots in the A pillar and press the windshield garnish molding  (1) into place.

39. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate (2) » Install

40. Connect the electrical connectors.

41. Instrument Panel Switch Trim Plate Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

42. Connect the electrical connectors.

43. Instrument Panel Trim Pad (2) » Install

44. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

45. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (1) » Install

46. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) » Install

47. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Outer Filler (1) » Install

48. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
