High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement

Caution

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Caution

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced. Removal Procedure

1. Liftgate Weatherstrip (1) » Reposition

2. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
3. Pull both body side rear window garnish moldings (1) outwards enough to access the tether fasteners.

4. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]
5. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Remove [2x]

6. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Remove [2x]

7. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

Note

Lower to gain access to rear window washer nozzle hose extension

9. Lower the headlining trim panel (1).
10. Disengage the retaining clips (2) at the rear of the headliner trim panel.
11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
12. Rear Window Washer Nozzle Hose Extension » Disconnect
13. Disconnect the upper panel grommet from the body of the vehicle.

14. Raise the rear compartment lift window.
15. Rear End Spoiler Bolt (1) » Remove [4x]

16. Rear End Spoiler Bolt (1) » Remove [11x]
17. Rear End Spoiler (2) » Remove

18. Rear End Spoiler Bolt (1) » Remove [8x]

19. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
20. Remove the Rear end lower spoiler (1).

21. Disconnect the electrical connector.

23. High Mount Stop Lamp (2) » Remove Installation Procedure

24. High Mount Stop Lamp (2) » Install

Caution

Refer to Fastener Caution.

2. High Mount Stop Lamp Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

3. Install the Rear end lower spoiler (1).

4. Ensure the retaining tabs have fully secured and the rear end lower spoiler (1)  is properly seated.

5. Rear End Spoiler Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [8X] — Fastener Specifications

6. Rear End Spoiler (1) » Install

7. Rear End Spoiler Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [11X] — Fastener Specifications

8. Rear End Spoiler Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4X] — Fastener Specifications

9. Connect all electrical connectors.

10. Rear Window Washer Nozzle Hose Extension » Connect

11. Connect the liftgate upper panel grommet.

12. Engage the retaining clips (2) at the rear underside of the headlining trim panel (1).

13. Headlining Trim Panel (1) » Install

14. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding (1) » Install [2x]

15. Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

16. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Tether Retaining Clip (2) » Install [2x]

17. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

Note

Position the body side rear window garnish molding tether in the same position as before molding removal.

18. Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding (1) » Install [2x]

19. Liftgate Weatherstrip (1) » Reposition
