Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the door.

2. Disconnect the instrument panel compartment door dampener (1) from the instrument panel compartment door (2).
3. Squeeze the sides of the compartment door (2) and lower the compartment door past the stops.

4. Instrument Panel Compartment Door (1) » Remove

5. Make sure the instrument panel compartment door lock cylinder (1) is in the unlock 12 o’clock position.
6. Position the instrument panel compartment door latch (2) in the up position and hold while accessing the poke hole (3).
7. Apply a light load with a suitable tool and depress the retainer tumbler through the poke hole (3) on the instrument panel compartment door latch (2).

8. While keeping the retainer tumbler (1) depressed, push the instrument panel compartment door lock cylinder (2) from the back of the instrument panel compartment door latch. Installation Procedure

1. Install the instrument panel compartment door lock cylinder (1) at the 12 o’clock position while holding the retainer tumbler (2) depressed into the instrument panel compartment door latch (3).

2. Return the instrument panel compartment door latch (3) to the close position.

3. Ensure proper operation of the instrument panel compartment door lock cylinder (1).

4. Instrument Panel Compartment Door (1) » Install

5. Squeeze the sides of the compartment door (2) and install the compartment door past the stops.

6. Connect the instrument panel compartment door dampener (1) to the instrument panel compartment door (2).

7. Close the door.
