Conditions for Running the DTC DTC P0335, P0336, P0340, P0341, P0641, P0651 = Not set Engine = Cranking or Running Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve = Park position Crankshaft Position Sensor & Camshaft Position Sensor = Synchronized Time since diagnostic ran last = For greater than 1 s Frequency the DTC runs = Continuously — After the running conditions are met Conditions for Setting the DTC The deviation of the relative camshaft position is greater than −11° in one direction or greater than 11° in the other direction (measured in degrees of the crankshaft). - Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
- Verify DTC P0010, P0335, P0336, P0340, P0341, P2088, P2089 is not set. ⇒ If any of the DTCs are set Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle ⇓ If none of the DTCs are set
- Engine » Idling — At normal operating temperature.
- Verify DTC P0016 is not set. ⇒ If the DTC is set 4.1. Ignition/Vehicle » Off 4.2. Verify the following conditions do not exist: B23 Camshaft Position Sensor — Incorrect installation B26 Crankshaft Position Sensor — Incorrect installation Q6 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve — Incorrect installation / Stuck Closed / Stuck Open Camshaft /Crankshaft — Damaged or misaligned reluctor ring. Timing Belt or Timing Chain — Excessive play Timing Belt Tensioner or Timing Chain Tensioner — Incorrect installation ⇒ If a condition exists » Repair or replace as necessary ⇒ If none of the conditions exists » Refer to step 2. ⇓ If the DTC is not set
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data. Verify the DTC does not set. ⇒ If the DTC sets One of the above conditions still exist. ⇓ If the DTC is not set
