Circuit/System Description The Rear Seat Infotainment system utilizes two 12.6 inch fixed 16x9 aspect ratio, touch panel LCD displays with 1920x1080 pixel resolution. P22F Rear Display – Passenger Seat Back (Display 1) located in the back of the passenger seat is a smart display. P22E Rear Display – Driver Seat Back (Display 2) located in the back of the driver’s seat is a slave display. Display 1 is connected to Display 2 via a LVDS cable. Also connected to the P22F Rear Display – Passenger Seat Back is a X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor which houses 2 USB ports and 2 HDMI ports. Conditions for Running the DTC Ignition ON for more than 5 s The system voltage is 9-16 V The Rear Seat Infotainment system is ON Conditions for Setting the DTC B15B9 13 The P22F Video Display – Passenger Seat Back detects a fault in the Rear Seat Infotainment X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor LVDS Signal (+) circuit (HDMI 1). Action Taken When the DTC Sets The P22F Video Display – Passenger Seat Back sets this DTC Conditions for Clearing the DTC The P22F Video Display – Passenger Seat Back detects a properly synced digital video signal. A history DTC will clear once 40 consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycles have occurred. - Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service mode, Rear Seat Infotainment system ON, verify media can be played through the HDMI 1 port of the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor. ⇒ If media can not be played through the HDMI 1 port of the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor. Refer to Circuit/System Testing. ⇓ If media can be played through the HDMI 1 port of the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor.
- All OK Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition/vehicle OFF, disconnect the X1 connector at the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor.
- Test the ground circuit terminal 4 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found repair the fault in the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service mode, verify a test light illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 6 and ground. ⇒ If a test light does not illuminate repair the fault in the circuit. ⇓ If the test light illuminates Replace the LVDS interface cable between the P22F Rear Display – Passenger Seat Back and the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor.
- Verify the DTC does not set or that media can be played through the HDMI 1 port of the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor. ⇓ If the DTC does not set or media can be played through the HDMI 1 port of the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor.
- All OK. ⇒ If the DTC sets or media can not be played through the HDMI 1 port of the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor. Replace the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor.
- Verify the DTC does not set or that media can be played through the HDMI 1 port of the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor. ⇓ If the DTC does not set or media can be played through the HDMI 1 port of the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor.
- All OK. ⇒ If the DTC sets or media can not be played through the HDMI 1 port of the X83B Audio/Video Input Adaptor.
- Disconnect the X1 connector at the P22F Video Display – Right Front Seat Back.
- Test the ground circuits terminals 2 and 9 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found repair the fault in the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Ignition ON infotainment system ON, verify a test light illuminates between the B+ circuits terminals 1, 6, 8 and ground. ⇒ If a test light does not illuminate repair the fault in the circuit. ⇓ If the test light illuminates Replace the P22F Rear Display – Passenger Seat Back. Repair Instructions Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the repair. For control module replacement, programming, and setup refer to: Control Module References
