Circuit/System Description When the appropriate switch is used on the A103 Roof Console it will a serial data message to the K9 Body Control Module requesting movement of the sliding center console, the K9 Body Control Module will then send a serial data message to the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module which will then perform the forward or rearward function. The Local Interconnect Network (LIN) Bus consists of a single wire with a transmission rate of 10.417 Kbit/s. The serial data is transmitted over a LIN circuit between a master control module and other LIN devices within a particular subsystem. If serial data communication is lost between any of the LIN devices on the LIN bus network, the master control module will set a no communication code against the non-communicating LIN device. Diagnostic Aids The motor for the sliding center console is part of the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module and cannot be serviced separately. The K230 Front Floor Console Control Module is part of the console base assembly, the console base must be removed to gain access to the module for diagnosis/replacement. Before fully disassembling the center console check for power and ground at the appropriate terminals at the X300 connector under the drivers seat. If there is not power and ground at the connector repair the fault on the appropriate circuit. 1. Ignition On/Vehicle in Service Mode.
  2. Check for DTCs. ⇒ If DTC U1147 is set Refer to: DTC U1100-U12FF ⇒ If DTC B1B16 is set Replace the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module. ⇒ If DTC B1B1E is set Refer to Circuit/System Testing. ⇓ If no DTCs are present
  3. Verify the power sliding center console performs the normal forward and backward functions when using the appropriate switch on the A103 Roof Console. ⇒ If the power sliding center console is inoperative Test or replace the A103 Roof Console. ⇓ If the power sliding center console functions normally
  4. A fault is not currently present and may be an intermittent condition Circuit/System Testing
  1. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module.
  2. Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 1 and B+. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate 2.1. Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1250 or the ground connection. ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
  3. Ignition ON/vehicle in service mode, verify a test lamp illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is OK 3.1. Test circuit 8640 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is not found, verify there is voltage at the fuse. ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open 3.1. Test circuit 8640 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found. 3.2. Replace the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module. ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
  4. Command the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module by pressing the pulling the appropriate switch on the A103 Roof Console. ⇒ If the power sliding front floor center console travel is limited or inoperative 4.1. Inspect the area around the power sliding front floor center console for any exterior obstructions that would prevent normal forward and backward travel. ⇒ Remove the exterior obstructions ⇓ If there are not any visible exterior obstructions 4.2. Disassemble the front floor center console and inspect for internal obstructions that would prevent normal forward and backward travel. ⇓ If there are not any internal obstructions
  5. Replace the component: K230 Front Floor Console Control Module Repair Instructions Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the repair. Front Floor Console Base Replacement Roof Console Replacement Control Module References for body control module, programming and setup
