Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (N38)

Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (N38) Removal Procedure

  1. Extend the steering column to its furthest point to allow the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover to clear the instrument panel.

  1. Using a small plastic trim tool, separate the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) from the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

  1. Using a small plastic trim tool, separate the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) from the instrument panel steering column opening closeout (2).

  1. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.
  2. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Remove

  1. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.
  2. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Remove
  3. Turn the steering wheel to the centered position.

  1. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Remove

  1. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (1) » Remove
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  1. Release the retaining tabs and remove the steering column tilt wheel and telescope switch (1) from the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

  2. Transfer the steering column tilt wheel and telescope switch (1). Installation Procedure

  3. Steering Column Tilt Wheel and Telescope Switch (1) » Install

  4. Connect the electrical connectors.

  5. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (1) » Install

  6. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  7. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.

  8. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  9. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.

  10. Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  11. Turn the steering wheel to the centered position.

  12. Clip the instrument panel steering column opening closeout (2) to the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1).

  13. Secure the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) to the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.
