Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LM2)

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling

  1. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Disengage — Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  2. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose (3) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Remove

  1. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Disengage — Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  2. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (2) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Remove

  1. Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Clamp (2) @ Air Cleaner Outlet Duct » Loosen
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  3. Air Cleaner Housing Cover Bolt (3) » Remove [3x]
  4. Remove the Air Cleaner Front Outlet Duct (1) and Air Cleaner Upper Housing (4) as an assembly.

  1. Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Disengage — Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  2. Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose (2) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Remove

  1. Radiator Surge Tank Bolt (1) » Remove

  1. Radiator Surge Tank (1) » Remove Installation Procedure

  2. Radiator Surge Tank (1) » Install

  1. Radiator Surge Tank Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

  2. Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose (2) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Install

  3. Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Engage — Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  4. Install the Air Cleaner Front Outlet Duct (1) and Air Cleaner Upper Housing (4) as an assembly.

  5. Air Cleaner Housing Cover Bolt (3) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications [3x]

  6. Connect the electrical connector.

  2. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (2) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Install

  3. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Engage — Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  4. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose (3) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Install

  5. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank » Engage — Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  6. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling

  7. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
