Removal Procedure

1. Apply two layers of masking tape to the painted surface around the top edge of the air inlet grille panel extensions (1) to prevent paint damage.
2. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully release the air inlet grille panel extension clips.

5. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal (2) » Remove
6. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

15. Pull the front fender insulator (2) down and out from the front fender.

16. Using the appropriate tool, release the foam insulation on the front compartment side rail baffle (1) from the fender.

21. Scroll to Deploy Running Boards on the navigation screen.
22. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

36. Using an appropriate trim tool, release the lower rocker panel molding retainers and pull the rocker panel molding (1) away from the body side outer panel.
37. Using an appropriate trim tool, release the upper rocker panel molding retainers and pull the rocker panel molding (1) away from the body side outer panel.

Note

Apply a double layer of masking tape to the windshield to prevent damaging the windshield.

46. Apply Structural foam 3M™ NVH Dampening Material or Sem Panel Vibration Control Material or equivalent to the front compartment side rail baffle (1).

3. Front Fender Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

4. Front Fender Nut (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

5. Headlamp Bolt (3) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

6. Headlamp Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

7. Front Fender Bolt (2) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

8. Front Fender Bolt (3) » Tighten — Fastener Specifications

9. Position the rocker panel molding (1) to the vehicle and seat the upper rocker panel molding retainers into the body side outer panel.

10. Seat the lower rocker panel molding retainers into the body side outer panel.

11. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

12. Rocker Panel Molding Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

Note

Position the assist step plates so they line up with the assist step bracket bolts.

13. Assist Step (2) » Install

14. Assist Step Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [4x] — Fastener Specifications

15. Electrical Connector (1) @ Assist Step Lamp (2) » Connect

16. Assist Step Insert (2) » Install

17. Assist Step Shield Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [7x] — Fastener Specifications

18. Assist Step Front Finish Cap (1) » Install

19. Assist Step Finish Cap Bolt (2) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

20. Retainer (1) » Engage [3x]

21. Assist Step Rear Finish Cap (2) » Install

22. Assist Step Finish Cap Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

23. Front Bumper Fascia Guide (2) » Install

Note

The final torque on the front bumper fascia guide bolt (1) is to be applied during the front bumper fascia removal and installation procedure.

35. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

36. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal (2) » Install [2x]

37. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal Retainer (1) » Install

38. Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension (1) » Install [2x]

39. Remove the double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces.

40. Using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water with a clean towel, remove any left over adhesive residue from the masking tape.
