Circuit/System Description The B306 Parking Assist Alarm Sensors are 3-wire ultrasonic sensors that are used to determine the distance between the vehicle and an object. The K182 Parking Assist Control Module supplies a voltage reference to the B306 Parking Assist Alarm Sensors via voltage reference circuit 6581 and provides ground via low reference circuit 5214. The K182 Parking Assist Control Module triggers the B306 Parking Assist Alarm Sensors in a sequential loop. After each B306 Parking Assist Alarm Sensor transmits, the K182 Parking Assist Control Module uses the sensor echo received through the signal circuits 5215, 5216, 5217, and 5218 to calculate the distance and position of an object.   1. Ignition ON.
  2. Verify DTC B1A30 is not set. ⇒ If DTC B1A30 is set Refer to DTC B1A30. ⇓ If DTC B1A30 is not set
  3. Verify DTC B19BB 12, B19BC 12, B19BD 12, or B19BE 12 is not set. ⇒ If DTC B19BB 12, B19BC 12, B19BD 12, or B19BE 12 is set 3.1. Verify the appropriate B306 Parking Assist Alarm Sensors are not contaminated with snow, mud, dirt, slush, or ice. ⇒ If contaminated, clean the B306 Parking Assist Alarm Sensors. ⇓ If there is no contamination 3.2. Refer to Circuit/System Testing. ⇓ If DTC B19BB 12, B19BC 12, B19BD 12, or B19BE 12 is not set
  4. Verify DTC B19BB 4A, B19BC 4A, B19BD 4A or B19BE 4A is not set. ⇒ If DTC B19BB 4A, B19BC 4A, B19BD 4A or B19BE 4A is set Replace the appropriate B306 Parking Assist Alarm Sensor with the correct sensor type. ⇓ If DTC B19BB 4A, B19BC 4A, B19BD 4A or B19BE 4A is not set

  6. Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector at the appropriate B306 Parking Assist Alarm Sensor: DTC B19BB = B306A Parking Assist Alarm Sensor – Front Left Outer DTC B19BC = B306B Parking Assist Alarm Sensor – Front Left Middle DTC B19BD = B306D Parking Assist Alarm Sensor – Front Right Outer DTC B19BE = B306C Parking Assist Alarm Sensor – Front Right Middle
  7. Verify a test lamp illuminates between low reference circuit terminal 3 and B+ ⇒ If the test lamp does not illuminate 2.1. Test circuit 5214 for an open/high resistance. ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on circuit 5214. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found 2.2. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module ⇓ If the test lamp illuminates
  8. Ignition ON.
  9. Verify a test lamp illuminates between voltage reference circuit terminal 1 and ground. ⇒ If a test lamp does not illuminate 4.1. Test circuit 6581 for a short to ground. ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on circuit 6581. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found 4.2. Test circuit 6581 for an open/high resistance ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on circuit 6581. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found 4.3. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module ⇓ If a test lamp illuminates
  10. Test for 3.5 – 12.0 V between signal circuit terminal 2 and ground. ⇒ If less than 3.5 V 5.1. Test the appropriate circuit for a short to ground: DTC B19BB = Circuit 5215 DTC B19BC = Circuit 5216 DTC B19BD = Circuit 5217 DTC B19BE = Circuit 5218 ⇒ If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to ground is not found 5.2. Test the appropriate circuit for an open/high resistance: DTC B19BB = Circuit 5215 DTC B19BC = Circuit 5216 DTC B19BD = Circuit 5217 DTC B19BE = Circuit 5218 ⇒ If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If an open/high resistance is not found 5.3. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module ⇒ If greater than 12.0 V 5.1. Test the appropriate circuit for a short to voltage: DTC B19BB = Circuit 5215 DTC B19BC = Circuit 5216 DTC B19BD = Circuit 5217 DTC B19BE = Circuit 5218 ⇒ If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit. ⇓ If a short to voltage is not found 5.2. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module ⇓ If between 3.5 – 12.0 V
