Different vehicles can NOT be used as comparison as seat material, element design,
etc. all directly affect the output temperature of the heated seats.
Inspect for aftermarket devices which may affect the operation of the Heated/ Vented Seat
System.
Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions
which may cause the symptom.
Verify that the customer is using the system correctly and understands the operation.
The following conditions may affect heated/ vented seat operation:
– Wet Seats
– Interior Temperature
– Aftermarket Accessories
– Battery Load or Condition
– Damaged Seats
– Objects Placed On Seats
Inspect the seats for causes of poor temperature output:
– Damaged seat cushions or seat backs
– Blocked or damaged air inlet or outlet vents
Intermittent
Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to
Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections.
