10. Unclip and reposition the chassis wiring harness bracket (1) away from the frame shock tower.

11. Remove the front wheel speed sensor bracket bolt (1) and reposition the front wheel speed sensor bracket (2) away from the front upper control arm.

12. Front Shock Absorber Nut (1) » Remove [3x]

Caution

When working around ball joints, visually inspect the ball joint boots before and after service work is performed to ensure no damage has occurred. If damage to the boot is observed, the ball joint must be replaced.

Note

Using a jack stand support the lower control arm to prevent over-articulation of the front lower control arm ball joint.

13. Support the front lower control arm with a suitable jack stand.

15. { If equipped } Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor (1) @ Front Brake Caliper » Remove

17. { If equipped } Position the front disc brake pad wear sensor wiring harness (1) out of the way.

24. Using the CH-42188–B Ball Joint Separator(1) , separate the left front upper control arm (2) from the steering knuckle.
25. Remove the CH-42188–B Ball Joint Separator(1) from the left front upper control arm (2) and the steering knuckle.

29. Remove the jack stand from under the front suspension lower control arm.

Note

Prior to installing the front shock absorber, you MUST apply anti-corrosion wax to the frame shock tower.

4. Apply anti-corrosion wax to the frame shock tower. Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair

5. Front Shock Absorber (1) » Install

Note

Using a jack stand support the lower control arm to prevent over-articulation of the front lower control arm ball joint.

6. Front Shock Absorber Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [2x] — Fastener Specifications

7. Front Stabilizer Shaft Link Nut (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

8. Front Upper Control Arm Ball Stud Nut (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

9. Front Shock Absorber Nut (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

10. Reposition and install the front wheel speed sensor bracket (2).

11. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

12. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Wiring Harness (1) @ Wiring Harness Bracket » Install

13. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket (2) » Install

14. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

15. Front Wheel Speed Sensor (3) » Install

16. Front Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt (4) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

17. { If equipped } Position the front disc brake pad wear sensor wiring harness (1) into place.

18. { If equipped } Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor Retainer (2) » Install

19. { If equipped } Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor (1) @ Front Brake Caliper » Install

20. Front Brake Hose Bracket Bolt (1) » Install and tighten — Fastener Specifications

21. Reposition and install the chassis wiring harness bracket (1) to the frame shock tower.

22. Remove the jack stand from under the front lower control arm.

23. Front Wheelhouse Liner » Install

24. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications

25. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) » Install and tighten [3x] — Fastener Specifications
