Instrument Panel and Console Trim | Diagnostic Information and Procedures | Document ID: 5461171 Diagnostic Instructions Perform the Diagnostic System Check prior to using this diagnostic procedure: Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle Review the description of Strategy Based Diagnosis: Strategy Based Diagnosis An overview of each diagnostic category can be found here: Diagnostic Procedure Instructions DTC Descriptor DTC B1B16 49 Power Sliding Console Module internal electronic failure Symptom Byte Information: Symptom Byte List Circuit/System Description When the appropriate switch is used on the A103 Roof Console it will a serial data message to the K9 Body Control Module requesting movement of the sliding center console, the K9 Body Control Module will then send a serial data message to the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module which will then perform the forward or rearward function. The Local Interconnect Network (LIN) Bus consists of a single wire with a transmission rate of 10.417 Kbit/s. The serial data is transmitted over a LIN circuit between a master control module and other LIN devices within a particular subsystem. If serial data communication is lost between any of the LIN devices on the LIN bus network, the master control module will set a no communication code against the non-communicating LIN device. Diagnostic Aids The motor for the sliding center console is part of the K230 Front Floor Console Control Module and cannot be serviced separately. The K230 Front Floor Console Control Module is part of the console base assembly, the console base must be removed to gain access to the module for diagnosis/replacement. Before fully disassembling the center console check for power and ground at the appropriate terminals at the X300 connector under the drivers seat. If there is not power and ground at the connector repair the fault on the appropriate circuit. Conditions for Running the DTC When the sliding front floor console movement is commanded Conditions for Setting the DTC The internal fault detection is handled inside the control module. No external circuit diagnosis is involved.
